Students sharing about what the project meant to them at the unveiling event.

Created in Granada, Spain, this mural project celebrated the elderly community and the legacy of the neighborhood through portraiture, storytelling, and public art. The piece was designed to honor the memories, experiences, and cultural impact of longtime residents while creating a visual connection between past and present generations.
Working directly with members of the community, stories and personal memories were collected and woven into the artwork to help preserve the spirit and identity of the place through the people who helped shape it.
The project also incorporated interactive memory curation placards that allowed viewers to scan and experience animated storytelling connected to the mural. Through these digital experiences, the subjects within the artwork were able to share their stories in their own words — helping bring the mural to life while creating a deeper emotional connection between the artwork, the community, and its history.
